What is GORE-TEX® technology?
At the heart of GORE-TEX® fabric is an extremely thin membrane that's durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable. It has over 9 billion pores per square inch.
The pores are 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule which means perspiration passes right through. This is what makes the membrane breathable.
The microscopic pores in the membrane are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, making the membrane durably waterproof.
The volume of air that passes through one cubic foot of fabric in one minute (cfm) is 1.0 cfm or less, creating a truly windproof membrane
Keep you warm and dry for longer
GORE-TEX® gloves are durably waterproof, windproof and extremely breathable. The GORE-TEX® membrane prevents water from penetrating into the glove and allows the perspiration produced by the hand to escape from the glove. The result: your hands stay warm when it's cold and dry when you sweat.
Insulation always gets damp for the same reasons: water penetrates from the outside or perspiration produced by the hand cannot escape. The consequence: the insulation cannot hold heat in and your hands get cold. The GORE-TEX® membrane keeps the insulation dryer and so prevents this from happening.
Only dry gloves keep hands warm. And you can only have fun doing winter sports if your hands are warm.
